Customizing Episode Statuses
HelloCast has 4 default statuses for episodes: Idea, Scheduled, Recorded, Released.
- Idea: You have a general idea for an upcoming episode of your podcast. Nothing committed yet.
- Scheduled: You and your cohost(s) or guest(s) have a scheduled day and time to record your podcast, but it hasn’t happened yet.
- Recorded: You have recorded your podcast, but it’s not been released to your feed for listeners yet.
- Released: Your episode is live and available for listeners.
You can change these statuses at any time, adding as many as you like, and changing the colors of each status as well.
You do this by visiting your Settings at https://app.hellocast.co/account/podcasts. As you view your podcast, click anywhere on the statuses that are shown. A window will popup giving you a variety of options to edit how you manage that podcast in HelloCast.
From this screen, click in the bottom area to begin customizing your available episode statuses.
You can change the name and color of the status by clicking the pencil icon on the right side. You can delete a status. You can add a status by clicking at the bottom of the list. And you can drag-and-drop to reorder your statuses. Once you’re done, click Next.
You’ll then be able to update episodes that were previously in one status, to any other status. Once you’re done, click Next.
At this point you’ll have one last chance to confirm you want to make these changes and submit them to be updated.
That’s it! Now visit https://app.hellocast.com/episodes to see your full list of episodes and their new statuses.
