Using Seasons

With HelloCast you can choose to optionally organize your episodes into Seasons.

To turn this feature on, click on your name in the top right corner to access Settings, and choose Manage Podcasts in the drop-down menu.

Once there, you can click on the edit button to the far right of your podcast name, or click the statuses section at the bottom of that content block. With the window that comes up, the default tab you’ll be on is the Details tab. Select the Options tab instead, and you’ll see a screen like the one below.

This is where you can toggle Seasons on or off. If they’re on, you’ll have a new field appear on each episode you edit, where you can edit the season number.  

This also updates the default sort order when viewing episodes in list view, as you can see in the image to the right. Episodes will now show grouped by season, then episode number.

As far as why or when podcasters should use episodes, that’s entirely up to you. Some people think they’re unnecessary.

Some people swear by them because they give you a chance to take a break, re-tool your podcast, re-energize personally, and plan for the next phase of episodes and/or guests.
